Baltic Isles, Berlin & Poland

Join our cruise on the calm waters of the Baltic coast and enjoy a mild climate and unique atmosphere. By far the best way to see this stunning coastline is by cruise ship, visiting picturesque resorts and historic cities along the way. Take in the passing scenery as you cruise across the Szczecin lagoon, discover the natural beauty of Rügen and so much more. You can also try a taste of urban life with a visit to the fascinating Polish town of Szczecin and an overnight stay in Berlin, Germany’s vibrant capital.

Day 1: UK – Berlin (Rail)
We travel by rail to Berlin, the capital of Germany, and check in at our overnight hotel.

Day 2: Berlin (Air)
We have free time this morning to explore Berlin before we board the ship moored by the famous Lake Tegel and spend a relaxing evening on board. Passengers travelling by air join today.

Day 3: Berlin – Oranienburg – Eberswalde
Start the day with our optional city tour, which is led by a qualified and experienced guide. It’s a wonderful opportunity to see the highlights of Berlin and hear about the rich history and culture of the area. We return to the ship in Oranienburg and then sail to Eberswalde where we spend the evening.

Day 4: Eberswalde – Schwedt
Enjoy a full day cruising Schwedt, en route we will come to the monumental Niederfinow Boat Lift which is the oldest working lift in Germany and bridges the 36 meter difference between the canal and the Oder river. Following the unique experience of passage aboard the boat lift we will continue our cruise along the Oder to Schwedt. It’s a great day to spend on the sun deck watching the scenery glide by.

Day 5: Schwedt – Szczecin
Today we will cruise toward Poland to Szczecin, a lively city and the capital of West Pomerania near the Baltic Sea. Join our optional tour to visit of this former German city, set on both sides of the river banks, which we can explore.

Day 6: Szczecin – Wolgast
Relax on deck and admire the passing scenery as we spend a full day cruising across the Szczecin Lagoon to Wolgast on the banks of the river Peenestrom. On arrival we have free time to explore this historic town or join our optional city tour.

Day 7:Wolgast – Peenemünde – Lauterbach
We cruise the short distance to Peenemünde, a small village on the Isle of Usedom, one of Germany’s most popular holiday resorts due to its stunning natural beauty. We have some free time or you can join our excursion to Peenemünde museum formally the largest armaments centre in Europe, where up to 12,000 people worked on guided weapons before we return to the ship for lunch. Later we set sail to Lauterbach on the isle of Rügen. On arrival you can join an optional tour of Rügen visiting Putbus, Binz and Prora. Binz is the largest seaside resort on the island, it is known for it’s sandy beaches and the Strandpromenade, an elegant seaside walkway. Next is Prora north of the town are the ruins, orgainally built by the Nazis as a vast resort. Our final place is Prora and it’s museum, which is a record of it’s complex of history.

Day 8: Lauterbach – Stralsund
We cruise this morning to Stralsund arriving at lunchtime. The historical centre is a delight to explore, with imposing churches, gothic gabled houses and the beautiful town hall with its distinctive facades. To make sure you don’t miss anything, why not join our optional walking tour.

Day 9: Stralsund – Düsseldorf (Rail) / Berlin – UK (Air)
After breakfast passengers travelling by air will be transferred to Berlin airport for the return flight. Passengers travelling by rail take the train to Düsseldorf for an overnight stay.

Day 10: Düsseldorf – Cologne – UK (Rail)
We are taken by coach to Cologne and retrace the route to Brussels for the return Eurostar connection to London.
